Before Before
After After
The innkeeper explored a number of ways to add lighting
to this property. After a number of attempts that simply
did not offer the desired “wow” factor, Buddy Reed and his
team met Outdoor Lighting Perspectives at the Association
of Independent Hospitality Professionals (AIHP) annual
conference, The Summit. Innkeeper Selena Einwechter wanted to highlight her
beautiful property after dark as well as ensure guests could
safely and comfortably navigate around the exterior of her
B&B including the paths that lead from the main structure
to suites located in adjacent buildings. While solar lighting
was inexpensive, the results were underwhelming, and the
fixtures did not stand the test of time.
Our design plan featured LED fixtures along the façade,
the drive, the entrance sign, and along several pathways.
Towering trees were illuminated down a path leading to a
private beach. Additionally, string lighting was also used to
warmly illuminate an outdoor seating area that would have
otherwise gone unused during the evening hours. Our design plan illuminated the entire façade and guest
room dormers, as well as a stunning seating area now bathed
in warm, energy-efficient illumination. Garden buildings,
structures and trees were also highlighted to add depth and
character whereas before they simply vanished into the night.
