CELEBRATING OUR INDUSTRY GIVING BACK
I am hoping that as this edition of The Voice of Innkeeping hits your inbox, you're having a productive and successful summer. All of us on the AIHP team are here to help anyway that we can, so please feel free to reach out at any time. We love to hear from our members.
We hope you enjoy this month’s edition of The Voice of Innkeeping. A big thank you to our staff who work so diligently to put this magazine together and, as always, we are grateful for our advertisers and content contributors. We continue to look for ways to improve on the content that we deliver to you, so please send any content ideas to Sarah on our Communications Team.
I am particularly proud of AIHP’s newest initiative – AIHP MEMBERS GIVING BACK. A big thank you to two of our board members, Dean Carlson and Nancy Malike for spearheading this effort. Speaking of members giving back, I hope that you saw the pictures posted on the AIHP Facebook pages a few weeks ago, about your board’s recent visit to the Humane Society of
Kent County in Chestertown, MD. We were in Chestertown for an AIHP board meeting and had an opportunity through this Giving Back initiative to spend some time helping the staff at the Humane Society. What a great experience it was for all of us. Starting with this edition, we will be celebrating our members and their contributions to making our world and communities a better place. So many of our members are involved and volunteer in regional and national non-profit organizations that help improve the lives of others outside of the innkeeping industry.
I hope you will enjoy this first article on Ed and Carol Fisher. They established a non-profit called Visions of Hope for Africa. It is a touching story and an amazing contribution to a wonderful cause. If you know of anyone in our industry that is doing something amazing for others, please share that story with us.
