THE CALM
AFTER THE
hat a surprise to have Hurricane Irma blow through Florida like it did this year. Most of Florida can go for 20 or
more years without experiencing a hurricane. Fortunately for all of you who like to visit Florida to escape the cold, this year will be no different. There are areas in the middle Keys that were harder hit and still rebuilding, but Key West is open for business. St. Augustine, Amelia Island, New Smyrna Beach all the way down to West Palm Beach are back to normal and ready to receive visitors.
I recently visited Central Florida and stayed at the Hampton Lake Bed and Breakfast Inn. The picture featured herein shows the beauty of the area. This quaint off the beaten path Inn is just 15 minutes from Gainesville and offers the best scenery around. Florida is a Tropical Paradise no matter where you choose to visit.
When I was in Tallahassee this past week, I enjoyed an outdoor restaurant in the heart of downtown on the coolest night of the year so far. It was lovely to feel the cooling breeze and enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the people around me.
I’ve spoken with many Inns around the State who have had little to no damage and are looking forward to your visit. I’ve traveled from Tallahassee, through the middle of the State and all the back to West Palm and the resilient spirit of innkeepers is apparent everywhere.
So keep your plans and visit the Sunshine State soon. I’d love to hear your stories about your Florida adventure.
