AIHP is “The Voice of Innkeeping!” We exist for this reason and this directive will drive all that we do for our members and this industry. The strategic plan and all of our initiatives support AIHP’s vision of being the true voice of innkeeping. As we talked about AIHP last week at the board meeting, I was reminded of AIHP’s Value Proposition – “Our passion for innkeeping, collective knowledge, advocacy, and having fun helps our peers and future innkeepers to achieve greater personal satisfaction and improve their bottom line by associating, learning and sharing great ideas and proven practices and advocating to protect the small business lodging market share today and into the future.”

AIHP has a bright future. This past week gave us an opportunity to evaluate what has worked well and not worked well over the last six months. What do we need to be addressing moving forward? In the coming weeks you will see us addressing ways to better position AIHP. Through social media, on our website and reaching out to a broader list of potential members. Our focus continues to be on growing our membership and establishing important partnerships at the state and national level. We will be speaking on behalf of the industry on critical issues facing our members, much in the way we did with Trip Advisor. The committees/taskforces that have been established have and will begin to ramp up their work – each committee and taskforce represents a key component of our strategic plan and they will help to solidify our position as “The Voice of Innkeeping.

We are blessed to have such passionate members and a board of directors that is so committed. I am encouraged and pleased with the discussions that we had last week and thrilled with the foundation we continue to build on – that all of you have helped to build as members. I am looking forward to sharing our plan in the coming week and working with you to accomplish our important work.
