The Voice of Innkeeping Issue 2 Vol. 1 March 2016 | Page 9

Innkeeper emeritus with their valuable depth of knowledge & experience; and Allied Partners that help us do our job and provide quality services & products that we need to succeed. All represent a geographical cross section of the US.

Your BOD have made huge, personal & financial commitments to participate (all pay for their travel, food and lodging expenses) and have been working hard to make AIHP what it has become…the Voice of Innkeeping. Since the BOD came into existence they have had over 30 conference call board meetings, held face to face board meetings in Baltimore, Texas and Philadelphia and soon in Nashville as well as 2 additional meetings scheduled this year, one in July and November. Your board communicates online via an app called "Slack" and in the past 8 months have posted over 5,700 in-house messages! We have hired a dynamic CEO, initiated our inaugural summit, and attended state association meetings across the country…as well as numerous AIHP committee meetings…all to help create a new, active and forward thinking organization.

We want ALL in our industry to have a place at the table, a VOICE in your organization and to be included in the decisions that shape our industry. You will find ALL of your board of directors at the AIHP Summit and Marketplace in Nashville available to talk with and answer your questions. We look forward to seeing our old friends and making new ones.

A note of thanks and a reason to celebrate as AIHP enters its new chapter

“In their own words”: Your Association of Independent Hospitality Professionals Board of Directors… progressive voice of our industry.

You’ve heard from me many times over the past 8 months but you may not realize the diverse, multi-faceted cross section of individuals who comprise your AIHP BOD, all of whom bring years of Innkeeping and life experience to our industry. We’ve made a conscious decision to be an inclusive association. We have innkeepers representing both large & small accommodations;
