A week after my operation in June 2009, lying
in a hospital bed, I thought I would never
ever be the same again and certainly never
be able to show my dogs at Championship
level and do normal things again. Most of
my friends said I had never been normal,
but my zany sense of humour would get me
through!
When I had stopped feeling sorry for myself
I set myself a goal to go to a Blackpool
Championship show in twelve days, ordered
a wheelchair and off I went, husband in tow.
I sat in the wheelchair for ten minutes but
felt stupid so off I went walking, husband
pushing empty chair!
Everyone has been quite amazed at what
I have achieved but I could not have done
without the help of Andrew Fishburn,
Specialist Nurse, Louise Stevens, Speech
Therapist, my ever loving husband, who by
now will have his fingers down his throat.
