I have taken the torch to our laryngectomy club
meeting at Ashford hospital to see what the
others thought of it, and it seems that several of
them already have it. So I wonder if Countrywide
will consider trying one with a view to supplying
it through your catalogue?The company is on
the internet. It is from BOYZ TOYS, Ryder Imports
Limited, Swannington, LE67 8RH and costs just
£3.99. I managed to find several at our local Sue
Ryder charity shop. So now I carry one with my
pump in the car and have one with another pump
in my bedroom, and one in the bathroom cabinet
with my brush.

There’s one small fault to be aware of; the base
cap contact needs regular cleaning as it can go
black, causing a faulty contact. I use the round end
of a nail file to scrape it clean.
It may also be of help to know that I have a loan
pump from a health service facility in Folkestone,
but as I have had worries about pump failure I
bought another and I use them in tum at monthly
intervals to keep the batteries in good order. You
may find the expense too much, but it gives me
peace of mind during public holidays etc when no
maintenance service is available. It’s so important
to find a good supplier when you rely on a product
