“I consider Dusty a true friend,” he says. “He is a visionary and helped mold me to become an owner. Now at 31 years old, I could not have worked with anyone else better. The past 9 years and 3 months have been incredible!” Ben also has nothing but praise, respect and admiration for Sharon. She really makes it happen at the gyms and will wear any hat that it takes to get things done. Her personality is infectious, and she exudes positivity. Sharon is genuine and giving in her relationships with staff, members, family and friends outside the clubs. Both Dusty and Sharon have been generous in mentoring and supporting Ben. He now considers the last nine years as the “honey- moon” phase, and now the real work begins. He wakes up every morning now with a different passion as an owner. He is fully invested and has a lot to prove to himself and others, gaining their respect in the process. He plans to continue the legacy that Dusty and his family started, while being open to new ideas. At Gold’s Gym Albemarle, main- taining a strong staff and member community is the main goal. He wants families, kids and athletes to know how important it is that they are happy! Ben is a great guy with a grateful heart and a ton of enthusiasm for the future. He looks forward to meeting his peers soon! 22
