gathered at the table for a wonderful meal. After much lively conversation, the pastor and his little family left for home. Tyra’ s family was exhausted, so they went to bed right away.
The next day, Tyra ' s family headed over to the clinic to begin the work they had planned to do for so long. For the first week, they helped at the clinic sorting supplies and cleaning. The 2nd week, they helped at the church, doing some muchneeded painting. The 3rd week, they helped Marie at her house, trimming bushes and doing some repairs and cleaning, and in the 4th week they did street ministry. This was Tyra’ s favorite. For several hours each day, Tyra ' s family and Elaya ' s family handed out Bibles and note cards with Bible verses, and read Scripture. They acted out Bible stories to anyone who would listen. The last day on the streets, a little boy about 9 years old came up to
Tyra and asked her why they were doing this. " So we can help people learn about Jesus!" Tyra replied. The young boy asked a whole bunch of other questions, and by the time they were done, the boy asked if she would help him give his heart to Jesus. So then and there, this young boy gave his heart to Christ. Tyra was thrilled! This was REALLY what they had come for!
The next day, Tyra ' s family packed up and had one last meal with the pastor’ s family and Marie. They tearfully said their good-bye’ s. " Tyra," said Elaya, " Your being here has encouraged me to keep sharing the Gospel to children!" Tyra smiled, " It wasn ' t me, it was God!" Then Tyra gave Elaya one last hug before they drove away down the dusty path. She waved until she could no longer see Elaya. This would be a trip she would never forget!
