like that can do for a person.
Let ' s move on from the obvious suggestions. Being a missionary can also include helping those who are Christians. We all have bad days, so doing random acts of kindness for our brother or sister in Christ is definitely always a good idea. Don ' t we all appreciate when someone sends us a random text or letter of encouragement? I know I do! Also, you could get a sunshine box together for a person if they are sick or just need a brightener.
Let ' s take a look at someone in the Bible who practiced her missionary work in her home town even while holding a common job.
Remember Dorcas, the seamstress? She lived in the town of Joppa, and witnessed to the people around her through her work. The Bible states, "... she was full of good works and acts of charity."( Acts 9:36) One day, she became ill and died. The townspeople heard that Peter and some of the other apostles were nearby and called for them to help. Peter followed them back to where Dorcas was, prayed over her, and, by God ' s amazing power, she came back to life! The Bible states that through this experience, many people were saved that day. What an incredible story! Because of Dorcas ' s love for her people, they did whatever they could to help her. But also, because Peter allowed God to use him, Dorcas was raised from the dead and many people came to Christ!
This proves that no matter how insignificant your job is, God can use absolutely anything to bring people to Christ if we just allow him to work in and through us. We need to be the light in our communities. Don ' t be dim just because you are young. Shine brightly for Him and He will use you to bless others in ways you can ' t imagine. We may not always see the results right away, but if your motives are pure, it won ' t be wasted. Be the light, so that through you, others will see Him!
