What DOES IT MEAN TO BE
virtuous?
The virtuous woman is one that is able and capable. She is a woman of excellence. She is not afraid to try new things and stretch her potential. She is smart. She is intelligent. She excels in many things because she believes in herself and she relies on the Lord. She realizes that her help and her strength is only through Christ.
She is pure. Every day she seeks to be clean in thought, in heart, in body and in spirit. She does her best to keep herself from those things that are harmful to her and displeasing to God. She is not perfect, but within her heart lies the desire to be pure in all things.
Now that we've looked a little deeper into what it really means to be virtuous we realize what a great responsibility it is! The good news is that God has already equipped us with everything we need to be virtuous. We must begin building our own (inner) house with virtue. Every day we should seek to build up ourselves with virtue and wisdom. Then as we grow, we can help those around us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Help me to seek You daily for wisdom and guidance. Give me the strength to be virtuous. Help me to build this quality within myself first so that I may then be a blessing to others. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Sometimes we read certain scriptures so often that they become too familiar and we miss the true meaning. Today let's take a look at what it means to be virtuous. What does it really mean to be a virtuous woman? What is virtue?
We all know that doing the right thing is not always common. We may have friends, family, peers or co-workers that from time to time believe differently than what is right. Regardless to the popular attitude of others, the virtuous woman seeks to be and do right in all occasions. This is not so that she can be seen as someone who thinks she is above others, but because she seeks to please God.
"An excellent woman [one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent, and virtuous], who is he who can find her?" Prov. 31:10a AMP
