Dear Vintagers,
I often get asked to write about notible figures in our
history so I thought for this month, our theme
should be women of the vintage age who shaped the way we view media and fashion today. Two iconic women who sprung to my mind first were Edith Head who designed dresses and outfits for the most legendary stars of the screen, and Elsa Neuländer-Simon (1900–1942) who was the most extraordinary photographer in a field very much dominated by men. She was the masterful guidance behind equally inconic photographer, Helmut Newton, so there is food for the soul this month indeed. We also bring you tales from London's best vintage day spots and night clubs as well as features from the real movers and shakers in the vintage scene.
