John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt with The Wyatt Family

Match Rating: *** ½

Now this is one decision that I completely disagreed and felt let down with regarding the winner of the actual match. The build-up leading into this match was one I was really excited to see but I didn’t think that Cena needed to defeat Wyatt.

The entrance alone sets Bray Wyatt apart from anybody else in WWE at the moment but with the mic skills to back-him up, Bray really is a future star of the company. He just needed that high profile feud and the big victory to really push him as a world title contender. The match was great to witness, Bray really did make Cena question himself leading up to the match and when Cena went to hit his trademark five-knuckle-shuffle, he was greeted by Wyatt as he performed his spider walk!

Just when it look like Bray Wyatt had broke Cena down and got inside his head in what was a good match, Cena returned with his usual routine and picked up the victory. Cena really didn’t need the victory on this grand stage, but I guess as the saying goes, Cena may have won the battle but as it continues, Bray Wyatt will win the war! Hopefully?

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal –

Match Rating: ***

I thought it was very nice gesture by WWE to not only actually remember the past and celebrate one of the most iconic moments in wrestling history – When Hogan slammed The Giant! – But to provide some of the mid-carders the opportunity to get onto the card.

The build-up heading into the match was somewhat decent with the likes of Big Show, Sheamus and Big E Langston all touted as favourites heading in. On the contrary, battle royals are normally very boring as they are very limited by the sheer mass of opponents in the ring, but this was one of the best I’ve seen in recent years! Although we got our annual Kofi Kingston spot, it was Cesaro who truly provided a WrestleMania moment when he lifted the giant and threw him over the top rope! A site that has to truly be witnessed first-hand.
