Free Organic Vegetable Gardening Class The Memphis Area Master Gardeners are offering FREE Garden Classes o n Organic Vegetab le Gard ening Methods. Trust for America’s Health Report F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future, , 2013, the state of Tennessee has the 5th highest childhood obesity rate in the U.S. Arlington Community Schools would like to bring awareness to the trend of obesity by hosting a community health fair on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 5:30 pm. – 8:30 p.m. This event will be held at Arlington High School in the rotunda and the main gym. Its goals are to increase health awareness and disease prevention by providing health screenings, educational information; to increase awareness of local, state, and national health services and resources; and to motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes. Silent Auction to Benefit Local Historical Sites The Arlington Chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities (APTA) will be conducting the silent auction at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s “A Taste of Arlington” on April 12. Proceeds of the auction will help the Arlington Chapter with its efforts to preserve and promote Arlington’s history through five historic sites maintained by the Chapter and through community activities and events.
