Luke Anderson, a
Lakeland Elementary
fifth grader, placed
second at the MemphisShelby County Spelling
Bee on Saturday,
February 1. He was one
of nearly 140 students
participating in the local
contest. After 22 rounds,
Luke
misspelled
disconsolate. An eighth
grader from Central Day
School won the final
round after spelling
ketone. Congrats, Luke!

On Wednesday, February 12,
fifth grade students and parents
from Lakeland Elementary
participated in the statewide PTA
“Storm the Hill” program in
Nashville, TN.
During their visit, the students
met with local legislators including
Ron Lollar, Mark Norris, Mark
White, Larry Mill
