The Science of Summer Reading at Sam. T. Wilson Public Library
Summertime means reading fun for all
ages at Arlington’s Sam T. Wilson Public
Library. Registration must be done in-person
at the library at 11968 Walker Street (901867-1954) and runs through July 9. A Sam T.
Wilson Library card is required for participation in the Summer Reading Program.

Bring your pole and bait and join
in the fun at the Annual Fishing
Rodeo, Saturday, June 7th, beginning promptly at 8 a.m. through 2
p.m at IH Managerial Park Lake,
4523 Canada Road
On-site registration for children
ages 4-12, starts at 7:15 am and runs
through 7:55 am. Registration forms
for pre-registration are available on
LakelandTN.gov (Recreation page)
or at City Hall.
The Fishing Rodeo includes
seven, 15-minute sessions. Prizes
will be given during every session.
Trophies will also be given out for
the longest fish, most fish caught boy, and most fish caught - girl.
There will also be moon bounces,
obstacle courses, slides, and free
drinks & hot dogs. Children must
be accompanied by an adult.

Important Reminders
Children must be 12 yrs old to be in the
library unattended. This includes all programs and events.
Bi-weekly prizes will be drawn on Saturday June 14, 28, July 12, and Grand Prizes
on July 24. July 23 is the last day to receive prize tickets and the last day to claim
milestone prizes. Remaining prizes will be
re-drawn on July 30. After August 4, prizes
become the property of the library.
To check out materials from the Library,
you need a new Sam T. Wilson Public
Library Card. This card is available to
everyone within the city limits of Arlington
for free. All other residents of Shelby
County can acquire a card for an annual fee
of $50. ID and proof of current address are
required. Customers seventeen and younger
require a parent or guardian to accompany
them in order to obtain a library card.
Due to limited space all programs require
sign-up. The children’s area is closed during all programs.
