Arlington Selects Local Resident as First Director of
Parks and Recreation

brothers,” he laments),
Carter has a solid background in youth sports,
plus a genuine enthusi-
asm for community involvement.
A 16 year resident of Arlington, Carter identifies his desire to
be more involved
in his hometown
as one factor that
motivated his interest in the position.
Carter had been very impressed with the way that
Arlington has grown
through the years and
sees the potential that the
town has.
“I had been very involved with the Houston
High community and I
wanted to do the same
things in Arlington,”
Carter states. “Working
with people, working
with the community,
working outdoors – it’s
everything I love to do.”
One of Carter’s initial priorities as Director
of Parks and Recreation
will be to get to know the
organizers of the youth
programs that use the
town’s facilities. “There’s
