OUTSTANDING TEEN

Townsend Blackwell of Lakeland, Tennessee
was chosen to attend the 2018 America’s
National Teenager Scholarship Organization
(ANTSO), a program for gifted young women
ages 9-25 hosted this year in Baltimore, MD.
Contestants

brightest
in
the
country, having won
their
state
representation
through academic,
community service,
interview,
and
onstage competitions.

celebrating a young
woman’s smarts and big heart. Therefore, while
the world around us has changed, our company
has not. We still focus on the female’s academic
potential, contribution to community, and the
ideals and power that women have, at any age, to
make a difference. This year we celebrate 48
years of glamour, scholarship, community and

The 2018 National event in Baltimore, MD
consisted of several days of competition, and fun
city events
Townsend Blackwell represented her title,
Miss Southern States Preteen National Teenager,
and competed in the preteen division for girls 10-
12 years of age. Blackwell is the 2018 Gold
Level recipient of the President’s Volunteer
Service Award, a co-founder of the local
Volunteer for Lakeland group, and is active in
the Lakeland community encouraging children to
pick play over technology for at least 60 minutes
each day with her program, “Ready? Let’s Play!”

Lindsey Thron daughter of Jimmy and
Debbie Thron of Arlington, Tennessee was
crowned Miss Shelby County Outstanding
Teen on Sunday October 28th as part of the
Miss Tennessee
scholarship
pageant. Lindsey is an honor student and
4 year dance team member at Arlington High
School. She will represent Shelby County at
the State pageant in Jackson, Tennessee in
mid-March 2019. In 2017, Lindsey was
named Memphis' Outstanding Teen.
