AMS Presents…Seussical Jr.
The Arlington Middle School Theatre
Department took the stage to present Seussical
Jr. on Nov. 12-14. The show was directed by
Jordan Nichols, with music direction by Nathan
McHenry. The cast included Paul West, Jake
Reed, Ian West, Anna Melby, Brie Young,
Brianna Hines, Conner Hall, Ashlyn Crocker,
Emma Norman, and a talented ensemble of
singers and dancers.
AMS Students Raise Over $3,000 for
LeBonheur Children’s Hospital
The AMS Student Council sponsored the
2017 Pennies for Penguins campaign
benefitting LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
During the week of October 30-November 3,
students brought in loose change, dollars, and
checks to raise money. By the end of the week,
the students had raised $3,520.00. This
support will help bring joy to the families at
LeBonheur during the holidays.
Arlington Middle Dance and Cheer Teams Win Big
The Arlington Middle Dance Team (below) competed in the
University of Memphis Pom Legacy Competition and was awarded 1st
place in junior high pom and Grand Champion for the entire
competition The Dance Team also competed in the TMSAA State
Competition in Murfreesboro where they placed 1 st in Hip-Hop and 2 nd
in Pom.
The Arlington Middle School Cheer Team (right) competed in the
UCA Regional Cheerleading Competition and placed 2nd.
Congratulations AMS Cheer! The team also competed in the TMSAA
State Competition in Murfreesboro where they placed 2 nd .
Veterans Day
Arlington Middle School held their annual Veterans Day Program on November
10. Students, faculty, and staff honored parents, community members, and
distinguished guests, who served, or are currently serving in all branches of the
United States Military. Guest speaker, WWII POW Olin Pickens, U.S. Army,
pictured above with AMS Principal Dr. Allison Clark and ACS Superintendent
Tammy Mason, described his experience as a prisoner of war after being captured in
North Africa and then sent to a camp in Germany All in attendance were also
treated to performances by the AMS Band, Orchestra, and Choir.
