Arlington & Lakeland’s Community Newspaper Meet The Candidates theview .com April 2018 WORLD CHAMPS x2! By Terry Bondurant Last month, The View 38002 contacted the candidates running for selected county offices—County Mayor, Sheriff, and County Commissioner for Districts 1 (which includes Arlington, unincorporated NE Shelby County, and parts of Lakeland north of the Loosahatchie River) and 3 (which includes the remainder of Lakeland). Each candidate was sent the same instructions. Candidates were limited to 100 words for their candidate statement. The responses are printed in this edition starting on page 4 and are unedited, except for formatting that does not change the content or intent of the answer and in cases of excessive length. At The View 38002, we believe that educating the public on the election and candidates helps individuals make informed decisions. We encourage our readers to contact the candidates for more information on their platforms and campaigns and for that reason we have included website information for those candidates who decided not to participate in our profile.
