Mayor and BOA to
Discuss Zoning, Expanding Beer Sales

and 50% of 10 grade students
who are currently zoned, but
will no longer be zoned in 14
-15 will apply for nonresident status. The projected
number of students for AHS
with only Arlington and
Lakeland residents is 1597.)
Pre-registration numbers at
AHS in February had 88% of
all current students, returning.

Community School’s Chief
of Staff is/isn’t concerned
about the numbers at this
point..
“We think we are in a
good place as it relates to
registration if you consider
both our pre registration data
as well as our enrollment
night data.,” Mayo commented in a written statement.
“Based on our preregistration, we are at 96% of
our projection and based on
our enrollment nights we are
at 86% of our projected
enrollment. The 86% enrollment night data does not
factor in our students who
will be admitted through our
shared residency policy who
are current students in Arlington schools.”
Mayo explained that neither of these groups could
participate in March’s early
enrollment nights.
Superintendent Mason
also reported at the March 13
ACS Board Meeting that
principals will be identifying
and contacting students who
did not attend enrollment
night.
Applications for nonresident students at the four
Arlingto n Co mmunity
Schools are available on the
website, www.acsk-12.org,
and will be accepted through
April 15. As of March 24,
290 applications had been
accepted, including 177 for
Arlington High School.
Mayo stresses the importance of completing nonresident applications on time.
