AES has talent! Our last week of the first semester at AES the halls were decked
with talented students. AES students have enjoyed entertainment from their peers dur-
ing morning arrival. These talented musicians played instruments such as piano, violin,
guitar & recorders. Other students sang songs about Christmas. The teachers & fellow
students of these talented kids really enjoyed the entertainment.
Mrs. Ogle, Mrs. Tomlinson & Mr. Stanko took two AES LEGO robotics teams
to the “First Lego Leage” competition at Southwest Community College. Our
teams “City Crusaders” & “System Overload” made AES very proud. Our amazing
students have worked all year and both secured a spot in the championships (in
January) and System Overload won first place in the Core Values! The LEGO ro-
botics teams have met all year preparing for this competition and will continue im-
proving their designs until the championships on January 25.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 10 first graders from Mrs. Levin's who turned in 25 iReady
tickets for a gold coin today. They each chose a book from the DES Book Vending Machine dur-
ing their library visit. What an exciting day!
We held our annual Geography Bee with the top 10 students
who qualified to participate in this event. After several rounds, we
had Joshua Wright and Sam Brunson in the championship round.
We were all anxiously watching as these two battled it out for the
winning spot. We are proud to announce our winners: 1st place
goes to Sam Brunson and 2nd place goes to Joshua Wright. All of
our participants were absolutely incredible. Great job to everyone!!!
