DEPARTURE ANGLE
When on a steep hill, your
rear wheels will start climb-
ing or traveling on lev-
el ground before the rear
bumper has cleared, which
can cause the bumper to drag
on the ground. This is also a
function of the amount of
overhang and clearance. This
is known as your “departure
angle.” The more of the ve-
hicle you have extending past
the rear axle the more of a
problem you will have with
the departure angle.
