how Shaun went about
creating the Gordon
Road Park Mural
The cover shoot was inspired by the tangible effects the small project undertaken in
the Gordon Rd Park had on bringing this public space to life and instilling a sense of
freedom and creativity on Florida Rd. From opening the kiosk up as a community touch
point and using the walls as a canvas on which to display the mixed heritage of our
road, to the immediate adoption of the space as the site for First Thursday’s activations,
we felt it was fitting for our team to further transform this creative expression and
capture it on our model Anita. Referencing Florida Rd touchpoints,
Shaun’s mural captures the history of
the road including its origins as an
elephant track that took the animals on
their daily trek for water from the top
of Berea down to the Greyville Marsh,
its position as the route for the first
mun
