As I lay upon the grass
All I see is the peaceful sky,
And I don’t wish to see anything else
Everyone wishes to be happy,
Yet the world is filled with evil,
Sometimes, there is not enough happiness
To go around
While the sky is a beautiful baby blue
Filled with feathery white wispy clouds,
It can also be filled with harsh winds
And storm clouds
The air can also be filled with sounds
Of laughter and children playing
Which are heard by only the luckiest people,
But not everyone
Is fortunate enough
To walk through air filled with happiness,
Only few people get to experience
All of this exuberance
That the earth has to offer
Those who don’t get to experience joy
Are haunted by the air filled with nothing
But sadness,
And thoughts orbiting them
Of what their life used to be,
Could be,
Or should be
Life is not always smiles and laughter
Screams can fill the air
And shrieks of fear silence the laughter
That once was
Life, a word that cannot be defined
Is not just one feeling
But many,
Cheerful,
And deleterious.
We all strive to have the happy thoughts,
But in the back of our heads,
We all know that fear and evil
Lurks about in the shadows
But one has control over what their air is filled with,
You make the decision if it’s happy or sad
Only you can lead the path through the air
Of happiness and help to
Quiet the shrieks of grief
If every person
Could feel happiness,
Then the fear in the air would be heard no more
