Spotlight: Kid President

By: Jamie A. and Sarah R.

"Love changes everything. So fill the world with it." – Kid President. In July of 2012, Brad, Kid President's older brother-in-law, created the first Kid President video. Kid President, whose real name is Robby Novak, started appearing in the videos after Brad came up with an idea for kids to change the world. For years, Brad's family has been working to create videos and camps in an effort to help shape the way kids grow up and empower them so they can make a difference. Brad and Robbie's videos began as something fun for the two boys to do in their free time, but soon they were meeting with the real president and Beyoncé. After creating more videos, Kid President went on to meeting bestseller authors and actors, all because of how inspirational his videos became.

Along with Robby's drive to inspire the world, he suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta, a disease that makes his bones brittle. He has had over 70 broken bones and 10 surgeries. As a result, he has had steel rods in both legs, which is why he is short for his age. Through these tough times of broken bones, Robby's infectious and fun personality is what keeps people coming back to the videos. The famous duo live in Tennessee, where there aren't professionals filming Robby. They have some small cameras, handmade sets, and a great attitude, which is all one needs while filming videos to inspire kids around the world.

Soul Pancake, on YouTube, which Kid President partners with to upload his videos, has over 1,685,533 subscribers. Kid President partners with his fan base to change the world, from the homeless to the hungry people around the world. There are over 16 million children living in the Unites States of America, and Kid President set a goal to help the kids in the U.S. and around the world to know where their next meal is coming from. Overall, Kid President is an influential person in the world, at only twelve years old. So get out there in the world and make a change! Just like Kid President says, "Make the world awesome!"
