Once you have your ticket at the Interlaken Station, jump onto the red trains and sit as close to the window as you can. As the train goes up and up, the temperatures will steadily drop. If being on a train is something you enjoy, then cherish every moment on it, for the ride is short and sweet. The building on top of the summit is made up of several parts including the observation deck and the ice palace. The observation deck is a metal platform with railings that stick out of the building and almost over the side of the mountain. It is bitterly cold outside, and the sky appears to be pure white. The ice palace, located inside the building, is made completely of ice. It is a series of tunnels or ‘hallways’ with sculptures of bears, penguins, and ice benches around every corner.

Before you head back down the mountain, make sure to stop by the restaurant for a quick bite. They have a variety of choices, including the tourist favorite: a cup of steaming hot ramen. Once you are back on the ground and reach the station, take a picture of the red trains against the mountainous background. It is a scene worth remembering.
