Alaska is home to tons of glaciers, some spanning thousands of miles, while some only a fraction of that size. These glaciers formed during the ice age, when snow piled upon itself and compressed to form massive blocks of ice. Slowly, these glaciers moved across the landscape, carving out mountain ridges and gullies. Now, only a handful are accessible by land, but the ones that are are majestic and grand, stretching far into the mountains.
