or is unable to take care of a child. The expectant mother could be financially unstable, and is not ready to have a baby. Raising a child can cost up to more than $12,000 a year, which can be unattainable for some. The expectant mother could also be a teenager. As someone currently in school, I often find myself stressed, and have a hard time, doing my homework on time, without adding the additional stress of caring for a baby. Additionally, the expectant mother may not have the time to take care of the baby. Those that may argue it is inhumane to have an abortion, sometimes giving birth to a baby you are unable to take care of, is worse.

The truth is, abortions save lives of many women and children. Illegal abortions cause thousands of women to unsafely end their pregnancies, in any way possible. Furthermore, fetuses feel

no pain during the process. Lastly,

women should have a choice over their own bodies. Should a teenager be forced to give birth? Should a victim of rape feel obligated to keep a baby? Should a alcoholic or drug addict be able to put their babies lives on the line? Frederica Mathewes-Green. author, professor, theologian, feminist, and pro-life advocate, stated, "No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg". While Frederica does not favor abortion as a means to solving problems, through her years of research she has come to understand that most women do not wish to be in a position where they have to make such a choice. Today, she advocates for "finding common ground and shared solutions to save women from a choice no one should have to make."
