Hibernation
The wind whistled and hummed around
He bolted the door closed
He could not see into the street
For all the snow that blowed
He yelled and screamed at Mother Nature
Wishing for an end
But as the light fell into dark
Winter was no friend
Too long to sit for two whole weeks
Alone and in despair
Wishing, hoping, silently dreaming
For an end out there
Sweet dreams turned into nightmares
As he stayed up all night
Cursing at the godly storm
Groping for the light
He awoke one day, hoarse and dry
Ready to repeat
Suddenly he opened his eyes
To yet another feat
The door had been left open
Rose petals littered the ground
And everywhere around he heard
Spring’s beautiful sound
