This year’s March Madness brought some of the most exciting basketball ever in the history of the tournament. With Warren Buffet’s billion dollars on the line, a record number of brackets were submitted. However, all the brackets submitted had at least one incorrect team by mid-way through the second round. The billion dollar bracket was not close to being found. With 10 seeded Dayton beating both Ohio State and Syracuse, the number dropped to zero in record time. No team was a shoe in to get to the next round this years tournament. All the number one seeds were gone by the elite eight except Florida, who then lost the next game. Even favorite, Michigan State could not stand up to the pressure. The only team to survive in the end was the University of Connecticut Huskies.

The national champion Connecticut Huskies were one of the lowest seeds to win ever in the history of the NCAA tournament as the number 7 seed. They also went up against the University of Kentucky, the 8 seed. Both teams pulled off huge upsets on their way to the championship game. Shabazz Napier, point guard for the Huskies, led his team all the way to the title. He was named one of the biggest impact players of the year for his stellar performance throughout UConn’s unlikely journey. UConn’s win got them their second title in the last four years and continues to display their dominance in the college basketball. Kentucky was also hunting for their second in the last four years but were devastated in the championship game, 60-54. These two unlikely teams brought the country one of the most exciting tournaments of all time.
