The Foundation endeavors to assist any individual on any of the programs who is faced with a specific challenge for which there is no assistance readily available in Bonnievale. We try to find the appropriate assistance from institutions which are registered to render the specific service. Usually we try to supply the transport and moral support for the initial visit (and often also for the follow-up visits) LSAAG: The Langeberg substance abuse action group held a weekly workshop to support candidates in their struggle against drug abuse personally - and also destructive patterns of addiction in their family life. Transport to and from the Graham Beck Skills Centre in Robertson was supplied by the Graham Beck Foundation. Six students attended the sessions and grew in their understanding of the challenges and how to overcome it. BATHUTHUZELE STRESS CLINIC: Six children and youths who were identified by our counsellor to be battling with severe stress, were taken over a period of six weeks to a special clinic of the Department of Psychiatry at the Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Health Sciences. They were consulted by a team of psychologists and psychiatrists and given special exercises to do at home and in their sessions with the Foundation’s counsellor. Except for two cases, all the young people displayed substantial benefit from the sessions.
