Catholic Cemeteries: Mark Your Calendar for Our Open House & Estate Planning Seminar
By Kathy Fanger
Well done, good and faithful servant!
You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things.
Come and share in your master’s happiness!
-Matthew 25:21
You are invited…
On October 6, Catholic Cemeteries
is hosting a Fall Open House from
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and an Estate Planning
Seminar 10 a.m. – noon with lunch
provided at Gate of Heaven Catholic
Cemetery. You will learn about prepar-
ing an Advance Health Care Directive
(AHCD) – a critical document that
every person 18 years and older should
complete. An AHCD allows you to
communicate and control the type of
care and medical procedures you want
provided or withheld and designates
a person, or agent, who may make
medical decisions for you in the event
of an incapacitating illness or injury.
Signed, witnessed copies should be
given to your doctors, agents and fam-
ily members and updated every few
years. Without an AHCD, the courts
or others may have the power over
such decisions.
The Estate Planning portion will
address Property Management, the
Revocable Living Trust, and charitable
and legacy planning and gifts. Learn-
ing this important information will
help you to protect your family and
assets. You will also discover reasons
to choose a Catholic Cemetery, where
peaceful, safe and sacred grounds,
among believers, are a reminder of
our hope in the Resurrection. When
the time comes for the fi nal committal
service, loved ones hear the comfort-
ing words,
“Come, you who are blessed by my
Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for
you from the foundation of the world.”
-Matthew 25:34
End-of-Life Planning can seem
overwhelming. It is easy to pro-
crastinate in making this inevitable
reality a priority. Yet, here is your
opportunity to learn, ask questions,
and begin the conversation. Then, it
is absolutely essential to have these
conversations with your loved ones
and appointed agents about your
end-of-life preferences.
Catholic Cemeteries is here to assist
you in being a good steward of God’s
gifts to you. We were able to help a
majority of those who attended last
spring’s open house. They were grate-
ful to meet that day with a pre-need
counselor to discuss their plans, learn
about options, affordable financing
and savings opportunities, and go on
a personal tour. Many put property
on hold or actually purchased their
fi nal resting place. For them, it was a
day well spent.
By having your plans in place, you
give the gift of peace of mind to your-
self and your loved ones. Allow us to
help you. Contact us at (650) 549-6056 or
[email protected]. If you are unable
to attend the open house, we encourage
you to set up a free appointment.
