Presentation Sisters celebrate jubilees
On Aug. 25, six Sisters of the Presentation (San Francisco) marked jubilees
as women Religious with a Eucharist
Celebration and brunch at Presentation
Retreat Center in Los Gatos.
• Sister Kathleen Healy, PBVM,
(Sister Mary Daniel), Jubilee of Grace,
70 years from entrance into the congregation. She earned a BA and MA in
education from the University of San
Francisco, an MA in theology from Immaculate Heart College, Los Angeles,
and a doctorate in ministry from the
Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley.
In 1946, Sister Kathleen began 28
years of elementary teaching, then four
years in secondary, and she served as an
elementary school principal from 1968
to 1974 when she began full time parish
ministry at St. Teresa, San Francisco,
to 2006. She was also involved in the
Sanctuary Movement and the Bay Area
Organizing Committee.
She joined justice delegations to El
Salvador and Guatemala and began
visiting the poor in residential hotels
in San Francisco’s Tenderloin through
Saint Anthony services.
In 2006, she became a founding member of the staff of The Lantern, a literacy
and hospitality center for immigrants
in the Mission District of San Francisco
where she serves today.
• Sister Jacqueline Graham, PBVM,
(Sister Mary Amata), Diamond Jubilee,
60 years from entrance. She earned her
BA and teaching credential from San
Jose State University and an MA in
education from the University of San
Francisco.
She taught elementary education for
30 years and also worked in environmental education at Montezuma Ecology Center at Presentation Center and
taught art and music classes to novices.
During summers, she was an instructor
in the arts and nature studies and she
ministered in the Diocese of Juneau,
Alaska, in religious education and home
visits in logging camps and settlements.
From 1980 to 1990, Sister Jacqueline
worked at Green Pastures, Mountain
View, a home for children with disabilities, then as a Special Education
aide in Santa Clara County schools, and
as music director for ZigZag Railroad
Children’s Theater, San Jose. She also
sings with the San Jose Symphonic
Choir and has published Earthtouch
and Life Cycle.
Currently, Sister Jacqueline volunteers as an art instructor at Blue Sky
Home, a mental health residential
program in San Jose, and Young Rembrandts in Milpitas and San Jose.
• Sister A nn T herese Ly nch,
PBVM, Diamond Jubilee, 60 years from
profession of vows. She earned a BA
in English/Drama from the University
of San Francisco, teaching credentials
from Notre Dame College, Belmont and
an MA in education and administrative credentials from California State
University, San Francisco.
She began her ministry as a Catholic
elementary school teacher and administrator in 1952, primarily in intermedi-
ate and junior high grades. She served
as Vice Principal at St. Lucy School in
Campbell and Vice Principal and then
Principal of Saint Catherine School,
Morgan Hill.
In the 1980s, Sister Ann Therese
served three years as Pastoral Associate at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, in
