October 17 - A beautiful city, Rio de Janeiro. Wish I had more time to visit the sites.
October 17 - I am participating in a conference this week with a group of theologians, on
the occasion of the 20th anniversary of “Ecclesia in America,” the closing document after
the Synod on the Americas. It’s been a wonderful opportunity for collaboration and ecclesial
communion across the Americas.
October 17 - Wonderful topics discussed, such as inculturation of the Gospel, interfaith
dialogue, women’s participation, theological methods, the preferential option for the poor,
the experience of Pope Francis, etc.
October 18
Today I presented on the future of theology
in the Americas, with co-presenter, Emilce
Cuda (who will be keynote speaker at the
LA Congress). Maria Clara Bingemer (right)
was host for the symposium at the Pontifical
Catholic University of Rio De Janeiro.
Heading home to San José after three days
of theological discussions in Brazil.
