the PSAT, these students will be considered for National Merit, college and
corporate-sponsored scholarships.
Each of them was recognized as either
a Commended Scholar, Achievement
Scholar or National Hispanic Scholar.
The National Merit Scholarship
Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and college
undergraduate scholarships. Established in 1955, it is privately financed
and not-for-profit, operating without
government assistance.
Competition is open to all U.S. high
school students who meet requirements
which include taking the PSAT/NMSQT

students in 22,000 high schools enter
the National Merit program each year.
