Bishop McGrath Leads Ribbon Cutting

A Ribbon Cutting for a Parking Lot ? You bet and it was a great party !
On December 8 , Bishop Patrick J . McGrath led a crowd of more than 100 in a blessing to celebrate the opening of a new and improved parking lot at Our Lady of Fatima Villa .
“ This is a first ,” said Bishop Mc- Grath . “ It is the first time I have attended a ribbon cutting for a parking lot !”
It was a joyous occasion and marked the end of a long and challenging project , but residents and guests agree that the end result is well worth it .
Our Lady of Fatima Villa President and CEO Bella Mahoney s aid , “ Our new lot provides better access , more spaces and most of all – increased safety for our residents , their families , friends and our vendors .”
She continued , “ We were particularly happy that Bishop McGrath joined us for the event . We appreciate the support that the San Jose Diocese has given Our Lady of Fatima Villa . Our residents look forward each year to the Bishop ’ s visit that features Mass and a luncheon . Having him bless our parking lot was a special Christmas gift to us from the Diocese .”
Bishop McGrath was joined by the Mayor Manny Cappello and other members of the City Council of Saratoga ; Father Scott Wallenfelsz , Chairman of Our Lady of Fatima Villa ’ s Board of Directors ( who flew in from Wisconsin ), Sister Mary Ondrecko , representing The Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary and other dignitaries .
Our Lady of Fatima Villa is a care facility located in Saratoga , offering Assisted Living , Rehabilitation , Respite and Skilled Nursing . It was founded in 1949 by the Dominican Sisters of St . Catherine of Siena and is recognized as “ One of the Top Nursing Facilities in the United States ” by U . S . News and World Report .
