here are so many mysterious objects in the universe, and so much left to explore. One of the few things that we think we know about is our solar system. You see, we live in a system that revolves around this star. There are eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune.

Mercury

As the closest planet to the sun, Mercury has the smallest orbit; it's only 0.39 Astronomical Units away from the sun. The time needed for Mercury to spin on it's axis, takes 59 Earth days. A year on Mercury lasts 88 Earth days. This is why Mercury is commonly known as the Swift Planet. Mercury is considered a hot planet, even though its' temperature can range from -173 to 427 degrees Celsius. Mercury has no natural satellites, but does have an artificial one that is known as MESSENGER.
