According to society, fast food workers have the easiest job that provides them with a sufficient salary. However that doesn’t mean most of them can keep up with the increase of prices. On August 28th fast food employees from 1,000 different branches went on a strike. They wanted their voices to be heard concerning their thoughts on the minimum wage and unionisation. Other labour unions leaders tried lobby the franchises and the government to increase the wages, but it backfired. Employers stated that because of how sensitive their business is to price, they couldn’t afford to lose customers.

With families to take care of, the minimum wage of $7.25 isn’t adequate, which is why a labour union is needed to negotiate with the management and come up with a reasonable contract.
