I looked at the wall connecting all the evidence. My conversation with Dani sealed the deal. I finally came to a conclusion. The killer was Dani. The tone of his voice matched up with what I heard that night.
That night I called Dani to meet me at the North Pier. On my way there I thought about what I should do. This was my best friend. Why would he, of all people, do this? What do I even say to him? This is a huge claim. If it doesn’t end up being him, he may never look at me the same. As I approached the pier I saw him standing. “What’s up man,” he said.
“Why?” I said.
“Why, what?”
“Why would you kill Jessica?!”
“What? I didn’t do that. What makes you think that?”
“I know you did,” I said tearing up, “All the evidence adds up. It’s you. I know it is.”
“Ok ok, I can understand why you would think it’s me. But I promise you it wasn’t. I know who it was.”
“Stop lying!”
“No I’m telling the truth, I was asked to do it but I didn’t. I couldn’t. I know Jessica and I never really got along, but I just couldn’t do that. I have morals.”
“Sounds like something someone that did that would say. And what did you mean by she was dangerous?”
“I TOLD YOU IT WASN'T ME! But they wanted her dead because she was the daughter of one of the most dangerous assassins and she knew all his techniques.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“I don’t know what else to tell you. But That's the whole truth, man. Please believe me.”
“I’m sorry,” I said as I shot him. *BANG*
