Backseat Joy
Poem & Art by Nikki Juhlin
A love so strong it could burn.
I’m reminded of the night
A memory so broken it cannot overturn.
Love at no cost, no cause for concern.
I saw you dancing at the show tonight
A love so strong it could burn.
Did it hurt? When I kicked you to the curb?
I stood in the back, I think we both know why
A memory so broken it cannot overturn
Now I’m all alone, I guess i’ll never learn
And I lied,
A love so strong it could burn.
I wish I would’ve kept my word,
When I took you on a drive
A memory so broken it cannot overturn.
I said there’s no cause for concern
Cause all I wanna do is turn back time
A love so strong it could burn
A memory so broken it cannot overturn.
