My Morning Madness
Jaelyn Amante
What’s it like to
wake up for school every morning?
Everyday feels like I am moving in slow motion.
Beep! Beep! Beep! The car’s horn sounds as
the clock strikes 7:30am.
I am a jaguar attacking its prey.
Waking up in time
is like ending the Corona Pandemic.
I am unsure if I am truly ready to conquer the day.
Time to wake and escape from my bed.
Where is mother
with her keys in her hand?
We must find them before I am late again.
Breakfast, backpacks, and bottled water
are packed away ready for the day.
The backpack is begging me
to not forget it again.
My head is about to explode with the thought of learning even more!
But I will do it anyway.
Is this brain surgery we are learning?
No, it's just math.
