Four Years
She sits there waiting for the next victim
The last four years of your childhood will be spent with her
She’s intimidating, pressuring
She will test your character,
Your beliefs,
Your values,
Your goals.
She will cause you pain at times
But with every pain comes a new lesson
You will want to quit, surrender
But you have no choice
You WILL continue.
She will let you make mistakes
She will teach you to be independent
She might isolate you from your friends
But will introduce to your lifelong friendships
She will introduce you to your passion in life,
Your talents,
And your unique skills.
There will be days when you hate her
When you want to run away and just hide
But she will find you
Remind you
And bring you back.
Four years pass
And you will depart her
She will sit and smile as she waits for her next victims
But in the end, your time with her will never be replaced
The memories and morals she taught will never be effaced
One day you will say:
Thank you.
