N o .126 T he T rusty S ervant Election Roll of ’68, ’69 & ’70: on Tuesday 30th October, 20 old Collegemen attended a 50 years-on anniversary dinner which was held at Brooks’s Club. It was a beautifully organised occasion with David Anderson (Aulae Prae, 1974) in the chair and the table groaning under the weight of the display of OW Lodge silver which is housed at the Club. Ian Fraser, Master in College, gave an update- not much seemed to have changed apart from the plumbing- and answered numerous piercing questions. Hong Kong Guild: the Director of Development’s visit to Hong Kong was celebrated on Sunday 19 th August by a trip to the Hong Kong Club Bowling Alley Bar. Alex Kaung (A, 86-91) reports: the HK Guild had a golf/dinner event on Friday 28 th September. The event was downsized owing to the fact that we had a lot of typhoon damage to the golf courses at the Hong Kong Golf Club, which were not open as a result, and we therefore changed the venue to the executive nine-hole course at the Deep Water Bay clubhouse. We had 7 golfers participating: myself, Roy Pang (A, 93-98), Dorian Cheng (I, 04-09), Donald Man (E, 90-95), Tavis Liu (E, 03-08), Sam Yuan (K, 12-14) and Rahul Mehta (D, 03-05). We were originally thinking of an OTH v Commoners theme but in the end felt that we should save that for when we have more participants. Donald Man had the best score with 31 Stableford points. We were fortunate to have some great weather (it was a cool, cloudy afternoon), and we had some drinks watching Day 1 of the Ryder Cup before a nice dinner in the restaurant at the clubhouse, where we were joined by five non-golfers. A small but enjoyable gathering.
