Tribe Impact Capital, the business co-
founded by EJF Lawson (C, 89-94), won
the Innovation Award at the 2017 PAM
Awards. Tribe is the UK’s first impact
wealth manager.
DMW Beeson (B, 71-75) has been
elected Fellow of the Academy of
Medical Sciences.
Appointments
JM Angus (Coll, 87-92) has been
appointed as Director of the BBC World
Service Group, which is currently
undergoing a large expansion.
NJ Farhi (Coll, 92-97) has recently
been appointed Chair of UnLtd, the
UK’s leading charity supporting social
entrepreneurs. EJ Lawson (C, 89-94) is
also a trustee.
TN Hone (F, 68-72) has been appointed
High Sherriff of Herefordshire for
2018/19.
MS Peters (Coll, 91-96) has been
appointed to the South Essex bench as a
JP with effect from last November.
AF Sykes (K, 70-74) has succeded RH
Sutton (Coll, 67-71) as Sub-Warden of
Winchester College.
The Secretary of State for Digital,
Culture, Media and Sport has appointed
JFL Whittingdale OBE MP (A, 73-77)
as a Trustee to the Royal Albert Hall
Council for a term of three years starting
on 1 st September 2018.
Art
After years of international success,
Winchester born artist T Afshar (A,
97-02) finally had a solo exhibition in
his home town. Letting Light In featured
new paintings and was shown at The
Minster Gallery from 28 th September to
30 th October.

PR Hall (K, 75-80) was part of the design
team leading the recent refurbishment of
the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton.
He hopes you will enjoy increased
levels of comfort and the new décor in
the auditorium as well as the adjusted
orchestra pit which should rebalance
the sound from the pit with that from
the stage. Peter affectionately recalls his
first school trip to Glyndebourne Touring
Opera’s Don Giovanni in 1977 which
initiated an enthusiasm for a career
in opera and the arts. He is currently
working on theatres in Belfast, Inverness,
Leeds, Leicester, Paisley and Truro.
On Saturday 10 th November, Jersey’s
Great War Symphony, Two Brothers,
composed by CG Mauleverer (E, 97-02),
and commissioned by the States of Jersey,
will have its first ever performance.
OG Parker (E, 82-87), writer of The Best
Exotic Marigold Hotel series, has written
and directed Mamma Mia! Here we go
again.
SA Khan (K, 84-89) starred in Sacred
Games, an Indian web television thriller
series based on the 2006 critically
acclaimed novel of the same name by
author Vikram Chandra.
