NO.119
Under-25s Dinner: Held on Friday 30
January 2015. A party of 47 under-25
OWs gathered in the Army & Navy Club
on the evening of Friday 30th January.
We were very lucky to have Alastair
Land, the former Master in College,
Deputy Head Master of Harrow and now
T H E T R U S T Y S E RVA N T
Headmaster-elect of Repton, to give the
speech; he was accompanied by his wife
Madeleine. Needless to say a strong turn
out from College added to the welcome
for the Lands and there was also an
excellent contingent from Phil’s. The
company generated a particularly good
atmosphere, while enjoying the roast
sirloin of beef. The bar after the end of
dinner did particularly good trade and the
revellers then headed out into Town full
of liquid nostalgia! A grand night was had
by all.

MDW loves red-brick pizzas…..
In mid-November 2014, MDW travelled
to the West Country to entertain the
Bristol University OWs. A good time was
had by those attending: Patrick Lloyd
(C), Hamish Russell (A), Theo
Blanchard (A), Harry Palmer (F), Charlie
Mayne (A), Tom Rea (H), and Dougal
Gray (D). Dougal has agreed to help
organise this year’s supper which will be
around the same date in mid-November.
Let’s boost the numbers!
In early December a cold but sparkling
Durham welcomed MDW in his mission
to spread the word in the far North:
Adam Wordley (I) ably took on the role
of organiser. We had twelve around the
table and next year we hope for even
more. Those attending: Charlie Brown
(H), Ben Stevens (E), Richard Landers
(H), Matt Black (H), James Joshua (I),
Henry Brown (D), Robin Richards (D)
who travelled from Newcastle University,
James Peck (I), Freddie Keen (A), Toby
34
Latham (I), Alex Spencer (I) and Adam
Wordley (I). Adam has volunteered to
organise this year’s supper as well; it
should happen in early December.
….and Oxbridge ones too!
In February and March, MDW ventured
to the ancient universities beside the
Cherwell and the Cam. An excellent
atmosphere was enjoyed at both and the
turn-outs were large. Many thanks to Alfie
Shaw (B) at Oxford and Oli Wettern (G)
