nationwide . And he is living his dream . A former firefighter turned lawyer who is all for the worker class . Now he is helping folks on scale . All from his virtual office in San Diego , building an army .
4 . TikTok — this is again driven by video content . Usually much shorter . And a much younger demographic . If you are on this platform , you are definitely more direct to consumer . Certainly a wider net cast , with more people reaching out , but a higher probability to be in front of a lot more folks . If you are using this platform , again , come from a place of education . Educate on the types of cases you want to work on , or the cases you know you can refer cases to a trusted partner . Very easy to educate folks on certain mass torts , and if they need help finding the best lawyer , they can reach out to you . TikTok is becoming one of the biggest search engines out there . If you are doing direct to consumer marketing , you need to be on it .
5 . Facebook / Meta — Facebook is still a beast . If you do targeted ads , or selfie educational videos , they convert very well , and very low cost . You have a lot of non-English speaking demographics as users , and a little older crowd . You also have Facebook Groups . Massive for engagement and building communities . Take a look at Billie Tarascio who started Moden Law . She is a family law lawyer in Arizona with a devoted community on her Facebook group of half a million people . That is 500K people who are looking at her as a trusted legal voice . She can easily educate folks on the next mass tort and funnel and track all the leads through the products mentioned above .
ORGANIC VERSUS PAID SOCIAL MEDIA
Building organic is always the best way , and I personally have learned that lesson . The best true way to do it is to build a lot of content , on brand , post a lot , and engage other like-minded accounts . This means commenting on their content . This means replying to every single comment that you get . This means spending a few hours a week simply seeking out other legal creators or lawyers and interacting with them . And keeping it up . If you are into motorcycles , you should be on motorcycle fan pages , constantly commenting and educating their fan base . This leads to followers that fit your brand and your intent . This is the best way , but takes a lot of work . You can also have a hire do this with you for your account with joint access .
There are two types of paid social media . One is mentioned above , and those are paid ads . The other is paid engagement . This means fake followers and fake comments . I learned this lesson the hard way and had a company do some of this . Bad idea . The comments were obviously fake and it took me too much time to delete them . The followers were all from another country , outside who I was marketing to , and brought my engagement and algorithm scores way down . The platforms reward you on how often you are posting , and how much actual engagement you are getting in ratio to your followers . If you have 100K followers , most of which are fake , and you are getting only 10 “ likes ” and one true comment , and 10 story views … the algorithm will push your content down . It took me a few weeks to banish all the fake followers . Learn my lesson . People know when you have fake followers and fake comments . Brings your credibility way down .
Another great way to build organic following is to repost other people stuff . Build relationships that way . Make sure to tag people , so you have others pushing your content too . If you have a really good informational piece , tag some of the big followed meme accounts , or a news source . If they repost it , watch your targeted followers flow in !
