What was the first job you had ? Okay , this will give my age away . My first job was at Blockbuster . “ Please be kind and rewind ” was a culture and we always appreciated the customers who were considerate and brought their VHS tapes back on time and rewound .
What ’ s your proudest moment as a trial lawyer ? As a criminal defense attorney , I prepare each case to hear those coveted word , “ We the Jury find the Defendant ‘ Not Guilty ’ so say we all .” Every acquittal or dismissal , no matter if it ’ s a misdemeanor or a serious felony punishable by life , is an accomplishment worth celebrating . However , after trying over 100 criminal trials to verdict , getting my murder case dismissed with a dispositive pre-trial motion is one of my greatest accomplishments considering the severity of this case .
I attribute my success to … My spiritual relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . As a criminal defense attorney , I constantly take on the burdens of my clients which can become extremely stressful . Compounding the stress of my personal life , my stress reliever is constantly reading , listening , or meditating on the Word of God to retore my peaceful well-being .

What is your most notable verdict or settlement ? My most notable settlement will always be my first settlement as a solo practitioner . Winning a six-figure settlement allowed me to invest in my law firm ’ s technology which allowed me to become more productive in my practice .
What is your fantasy job ? An influencer in the travel industry , specifically for allinclusive resorts around the world . Who wouldn ’ t want to get paid to travel and vacation to the most desired locations across the globe ?
What is your guilty pleasure ? Eating my dessert before dinner . I bypass tradition because I value my happiness and selfworth . Besides , studies show eating sweets before dinner increases overall meal satisfaction and stimulates appetite . You ’ ll thank me later .
What do you like to do in your time off ? Rollerblading in my neighborhood , with my Airpods on my favorite reggae playlist . I ’ m instantly “ teleported ” to the crystalclear waters and island vibes of Jamaica .
What ’ s your favorite hobby ? Preparing new gourmet dishes and leisure swimming .
What ’ s one word that describes you ? Blessed .
What keeps you awake at night ? Other than my 4 children , I sleep well at night , knowing I lawyer from the heart on a daily basis . I prioritize my sleep / rest because my spiritual and mental health is imperative to my well-being for my family and clients .

What advice would you give a young attorney ? Allow integrity and humility be your guiding force in your personal life and profession . For what shall it profit a person , if they shall gain the whole world , and lose their own soul ? ( Mark 8:36 ) Pride goeth before destruction , and a haughty spirit before a fall . ( Proverbs 16:18 )
How do you relax ? I prioritize my prayer time . It helps reduce my stress and provides increased mental and physical strength to persevere another day .
What ’ s your most embarrassing moment in life ? I was dating my husband 20 years ago , he ignored his gas light and we ran out of gas in the middle of an intersection . He vowed to never let that happen again , and to this day , he doesn ’ t let the gas go below 1 / 2 tank .
