What was the first job you had ? Bagboy at the grocery store , Jewel-Osco in Chicago .
What ’ s your proudest moment as a trial lawyer ? When Johnson & Johnson removed talcum power from its products in the U . S . and then worldwide in response to trial lawyers representing victims of their products .
I attribute my success to : My success is attributed God and the constant support of my family .
What is your most notable verdict or settlement ? My most notable verdict involved 3 plaintiffs who developed breast cancer due to their hormone replacement therapy usage . My trial team won a $ 72.6 million verdict for these 3 clients .
What is your fantasy job ? My fantasy job is being an ESPN sports analyst / reporter covering and attending all of Alabama ’ s National Championships ( roll tide ), the Super Bowl , NBA Finals , World Series , Olympics , etc .
What is your guilty pleasure ? My guilty pleasure is …. there are so many , but the one that gets me into the most trouble are chocolate chip cookies !
What do you like to do in your time off ? During my time off , I like to spend time with my wife and twin boys watching movies and going to the beach .
What ’ s your favorite hobby ? My favorite hobby is playing golf and having a cigar with my friends .
What ’ s one word that describes you ? One word that describes me is “ observant ”
What keeps you awake at night ? What keeps me awake at night is making sure I have not missed anything in my client ’ s case that will keep them from getting maximum recovery .
What newspaper do you generally read daily ? I read the Daily Report every morning , as it gives good information on verdicts and / or settlements in GA .
What advice would you give a young attorney ? The advice that I would give young attorneys is create value for yourself by ( a ) learning how to problem solve and ( b ) become an expert in a specific area ( s ) or topic ( s ) that they can be a “ go to person ” in future litigations .
What do you do to relax ? Stretching massages help me relax .
What is your most embarrasing moment ? My most embarrassing moment in life was attending a pool party in college and stumbling ( pretty badly ) down steps in front of everyone when I first got there . I lost all of my cool points .
