Letter from the Editor It’s been a while since we released any new material but I’m happy to finally present the latest issue of The Travellist magazine. Time doesn’t wait for anyone and many things have been happening over this past year. I myself am now based in Montréal, Québec, while the rest of the team are dotted all over the place – in London, in Italy, in Russia. In addition to The Travellist, we have been working on a new project which has been progressing wildly and quite quickly, so much so that I’m hopeful I’ll be able to share more news about it with you all in the near future. The Travellist has always been about connecting a community of photographers, writers and artists and showcasing the incredible talent that is out there. In that regard, we have some familiar faces featured in this latest issue, with Emma Matsuda whose work appeared n the inaugural issue of The Travellist, as well as Daniel Joseph Pye whose writing was featured in Issue 2 of The Travellist, joining us again with a selection of their latest works. In this issue, we are proud to feature the beautiful images of Serbian photographer Nemanja Glumac, who takes us on a journey to the caves of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, where hidden secrets are slowly unveiled in an amusing yet innocent way; London-based writer Daniel Joseph Pye reminisces on his memories and experiences in a touching essay reflecting over his past travels in Russia; over in South Korea, South African photographer Lala Warner recounts the exuberant moments of her life in Gyeonju and Songdo; Melbourne-based photographer Emma Matsuda’s collection of images capturing her time in New York will make you want to jump on the very first plane over to the Big Apple; and young American traveller Izabel Antle embarks on a worldwide journey with no end date in sight – with her entire family! In addition, we are also excited to present an Artist Spotlight on the works of Saima Heric, a young talented painter hailing from Novi Pazar, Serbia. Our deepest gratitude must also be extended to our Indonesian graphic designer Respati Ririt Pohaci and illustrator Yana Noskova from Ukraine in the planning and design of this latest issue; their dedication and hard work has been greatly appreciated over these past months. Finally, The Travellist will be moving to a new platform as we explore different ways to make the magazine more relevant in this constantly changing digital environment. Our initial goal to produce a sleek, visual product was achieved relatively early on and so now the onnus is to target the next goal: a magazine that is more interactive and more immersive for the reader. As we make the transition to this new platform, The Travellist magazine will be going on a short hiatus after the launch of Issue 5 slated for 2017. Stay connected with us though, this is only a temporary break! You can stay in touch with us via our social media platforms and of course, via our website: thetravellistmag.com fb.com/thetravellistmag instagram.com/thetravellist See you soon and as always, safe travelling!
